Community Carols and Fireworks Spectacular
Saturday 15th December saw crowds of people flock to Harrington Park Public School for the annual Community Carols Night hosted by Harrington Park Anglican Church. Despite rain threatening, the evening turned out cool and clear, presided over by a beautiful rainbow and glowing sunset. ‘Something for everyone’ was the catchphrase with a colouring and craft corner for young kiddies, games and activities for primary-aged kids and the new ‘Youth Corner’–stencilling and jousting.
The crowd was entertained by students from a local dance school. The ‘Hot Peppers’ skipping team from HP Public School wowed the crowd with their precision routines. Santa Claus arrived on the fire truck to a rapturous welcome.
As darkness settled, the band led the carol singing mixing up traditional tunes with modern music, assisted at times by the kids of HP Anglican Church. Ben Pakula kept the crowd laughing with musical antics along with the important message about the birth of Jesus Christ, celebrated at Christmas, being part of God’s rescue plan for us. The evening was capped by a brilliant fireworks display.
